Jørg, a German-based virtuoso guitarist, and composer has completely excelled himself with his fantastic 4-Track instrumental EP named “Train to Drammen.” “Train to Drammen,” which was released on February 17th, is a hypnotic and unique listening experience that takes us on an amazing trip through luscious soundscapes. Jørg’s amazing music creation and production abilities are obvious throughout the EP, as the tracks weave together effortlessly and wrap us in a delightful experience as we drink in the tones and feel of each song. After listening to the entire EP, the atmosphere resonated with my feelings, thus I felt compelled to contact Jorge from the other side of the globe to learn more. So sit back and enjoy my talk with Jørg below.

Songweb: Can you tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind your latest project?

Jørg: Sure! I had the great opportunity to play some of my guitar instrumental songs in a nice venue in Norway in October of last year. It was for opening a multi-band event in “The Note” in Sandefjord, Norway, but unfortunately, it was only for around 30 minutes. The atmosphere was so powerful and friendly that I decided to return this year to play some full-length shows. One of my new friends Sigmunn Salomonsen from the Label “SF RECORDS / Sentralforlaget” got me under contract, and so we decided to produce some CDs and later on Vinyls for my Norway Tour in 2023.

Songweb: How do you approach the creative process when creating new works of art?

Jørg: At first, I try to imagine what goal I want to reach; so to say I “order” it from my inner self. Usually, it takes a couple of days, and then I have a melody or sometimes also lyrics that I work with in my studio. But generally, I digest emotions and thoughts I had on several topics outside of the present and past. And that leads to the creation of new music.

Songweb: Can you share with us a particularly memorable moment during the making of this project?

Jørg: Three of the four Songs on this EP are re-recorded and sound-maximized instrumentals from “Torn”, the track “Train to Drammen” is what I felt sitting on the Airport Express driving from Oslo to Drammen, and I thought it would be a nice idea to let my listeners participate on this journey. That was a moment of strong impressions for me. After coming home from the trip I had a melody in my mind and found a way to integrate the sound of that train into the music. One of my new friends from Norway was so kind to send me the original train call, and so I was able to create an audible memory of that journey.

Songweb: What message or emotion do you hope to convey through your art?

Jørg: I intend to send out a portion of hope and wisdom – so that my listeners can participate from that and perhaps don’t have to go the rocky way.
Ok, as an artist you are always a bit of a self-exposer with the feeling of standing naked before your audience while giving your best. And sometimes you also have to show your capabilities in being an elite guitarist. Isn’t it always so that you listen to a song and think “Oh yes, I’ve also been through this”? It’s the same for listening to my songs. I want to share all I am with people who want to listen. And I want to motivate some of you to grab a guitar and find peace in playing it.

Songweb: Can you describe how you incorporate your personal experiences into your work?

Jørg: Every song I produce and create is 100% me. I’m proud to have gathered all crafting tools by myself, from the creative process of recording, mixing, mastering, and even publishing through my label MX-PRO RECORDS. This combination to learn something new with every production and utilize my talents for music gives me a great feeling of completion. For a second, when I’m satisfied with finishing production, I feel being a legit part of the universe.

Songweb: How does your latest project differ from previous works you’ve created?

Jørg: This time I picked the songs my new friends liked most and maximized their sound quality. Most of the time writing new songs I do it “out of the blue” without any special reason. And it was the first time I was working with real-life sound samples from a train journey.

Songweb: Lastly, what are your plans for your artistic journey and where do you hope to take your work in the future?

Jørg: I hope of being booked for many gigs and values after performing my guitar Instrumentals on a solo tour in Norway. If it turns out successful I will take care of forming a band to play festivals in 2024 not only in Norway. To spread my nice music as wide as possible, I don’t think that borders can stop a rock band from playing with heart and handmade music. Rock lives forever!

Overall, “Train to Drammen” is an EP that has an exceptional guitar performance. Jørg’s guitar abilities are just magnificent, and the tones he employs are remarkable, resulting in intriguing and enchanting sounds that would fascinate anyone.
