Based in Washington, DC Mike Cole, widely known as M-Dot, is a hip-hop artist who has been rapping for over 20 years and has consistently delivered compelling and soulful tracks. He’s an enthusiastic and dynamic rapper who employs music to communicate riveting life situations and has already piqued the interest of many, including me, with his distinct approach. With his music, he is pushing the frontiers of what is possible. “One Day at a Time” is a conscious hip-hop song from M-Dots ‘repertoire that includes R&B singer-songwriter Mary-eL. And while M-Dot’s stunning flows express real emotions, Mary-eL’s soulful vocals add a passion-infused touch to the song that makes the song amazing. They both do an excellent job of presenting diverse vocal nuances, keeping the song engaging and unique. Whereas the sparkling delicate beat delivers a delightful aura complementing the title.
Inspired by the struggles and difficulties endured during the pandemic, “One Day at a Time” is a song with smooth and intelligible lyrics that convey an encouraging and uplifting message to the world to inspire anyone going through a tougher situation. Also, it just encourages us to keep track of time and not be in a frenzy because everything will fall into place at the appropriate point. “One Day at a Time” is the theme of daily existence. It stands out from the other hip-hop songs I’ve heard thus far. The lyrics are quite positive, enabling us to engage with the music on a personal level.
Overall, “One Day at a Time” is an intriguing musical composition. The performers’ vocals amplify the emotions of the song and strike the hearts whilst the beats add melodic elements to the flow, making everything sound incredible. Everything is phenomenal in terms of production and delivery, and I had a great time listening owing to the beautiful mixes and excellent performances from both artists. “One Day at a Time” is a song I’d suggest to anyone seeking for encouragement.
