The 2022 Billboard Music Awards are slated for May, and the top music categories are filled with some heavy hitters.
Expected to betide on May 15, 2022, in Las Vegas, Billboard Music Awards has already revealed the nominees and their categories for the said event to its audience. They nominated artists under categories such as the following, Top Artist, Top New Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Duo/Group, Top Billboard 200 Artist, and a lot more. Some artists who fell under this category make the lists of Drake, Ye formerly known as Kanye West, Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Lil Nas X, Juice WRLD, Morgan Wallen, and other amazing and wonderful artists.
Now heading on to the main, 26 years old Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini known publicly as Doja Cat, is one of the 3 artists that had the most nominations earning her the most nominated female artist in this year’s Billboard Music Awards with 14 nominations. Though she holds a space on the Top 100 Songs and Top Viral Song with her hit song “Kiss Me More” with a feature SZA, she was also nominated for Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Hot 100 Artists Billboard per Billboard’s chart.
Also, coming in 13 nominations for this year’s Billboard Music Awards, Kanye West also known as ‘Ye’ secures nomination placement in the Top Christian Album, Top Gospel Song, and other categories of the nominations.
The Weeknd who also has put in loads of work in his career as an artist had 17 nominations making him the overall artist with the most nominations. The artist falls under the Male Artist, R&B Album, R&B Song, R&B Male Artist, Top Streaming Song, Global 200 Artist, and many more.
NBC will broadcast the 2022 Billboard Music Awards live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday (May 15) at 8 p.m. ET. The ceremony will also stream live on Peacock.
